Ninety-year-old Gamay vines planted into granite in Régnié — whole-cluster carbonic maceration, concrete tank aging, dangerously thirst-quenching.

Régnié from 90-year-old vines — more concentrated and spicier than the Morgon, with a rocky, earthy edge that's all granite.

Nose: Wild red berries, earthy spice, a hint of pepper and stone. More rustic and concentrated than the Morgon Tradition — the old vine intensity is immediate.
Palate: Lithe and juicy, with good concentration from the vine age and a stony, mineral grip from the granite. Whole-cluster fermentation adds lift and spice. The concrete aging keeps the fruit pure and direct.
Finish: Long and dry, with a fine earthy and stony persistence. Thirst-quenching rather than weighty.
Serve: 14–16°C. Slight chill works well.

Charly Thévenet purchased his own vines in Régnié in 2006 — the neighbouring cru to Morgon, planted into thin topsoil above granite bedrock.

Vines: Gamay, 90-year-old vines planted directly into granite bedrock in Régnié. Biodynamic (non-certified).Soils: Granite bedrock below a thin layer of topsoil — roots reaching directly into rock, producing intense, concentrated fruit with very low yields (~25 hl/ha).
Farming: Biodynamic practices (non-certified). Hand harvested, severe sorting.
Cellar: Whole-cluster carbonic maceration on indigenous yeasts. Aged in concrete tank. Minimal sulphur. Bottled without fining or filtration.
Additions: Minimal sulphur. No fining, no filtration.
