How it tastes
In the glass
An elegant, immediately drinkable Côte Chalonnaise red — the kind of village Burgundy that overdelivers at its level.
Profile
Nose
Fresh red cherry, a hint of violet and raspberry, light earthy undertone. Bright and inviting.
Palate
Supple and round, with gentle tannin and good natural freshness. Light to medium body. The approach — careful selection, hand harvest, gravity transfer — shows in the purity of the fruit.
Finish
Clean and dry, with a fine mineral persistence typical of the Chalonnaise limestone.
“A Côte Chalonnaise Pinot Noir shaped by limestone-clay soils and ageing in old Burgundy barrels.”

Terroir & winemaking
From the vineyard to the bottle
Château de Garnerot is based in Mercurey, at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. Terres de Garnerot is the estate's Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise — the widest expression of the domaine's parcellaire philosophy.
- Vines
- Pinot Noir on limestone and clay soils in the Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey. Certified organic since 2022.
- Soils
- Limestone and clay — the Chalonnaise expression of Burgundy, with slightly more warmth and roundness than the Côte d'Or.
- Farming
- Certified organic, working toward biodynamic certification. Parcellaire selection. Hand harvested, hand sorted.
- Cellar
- De-stemmed, cold pre-fermentation maceration, natural fermentation with native yeasts. Gentle daily pump-overs for finesse. Transferred by gravity, no pump. Aged in old Burgundy barrels.
- Additions
- Minimal sulphur. No fining, no filtration.

MERCUREY
Mercurey is the largest appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise, located south of the Côte de Beaune. Historically underappreciated compared to its northern neighbors, it has seen a renaissance through more precise viticulture and site-focused production.

Good to know
Questions we get a lot
Is this a natural wine?
All our wines come from small growers who farm organically or biodynamically and keep intervention in the cellar to a minimum: native yeasts, little or no added sulphites. Every producer has their own approach; the details are in “From the vineyard to the bottle” above.
Why is it a bit cloudy, or is there sediment?
Many of our wines are bottled unfiltered. A light haze or some sediment is natural and harmless: stand the bottle upright for a few hours and pour gently.
How long does it keep once open?
It depends on the wine (see “Once open” above). As a rule: cork back in and keep it in the fridge, reds included.
