Collection: Domain Jacques Selosse

Domaine Jacques Selosse is located in the village of Avize, nestled in the prestigious Côte de Blancs region. This esteemed family-owned estate spans nearly 8 hectares of vineyards across the renowned crus of Avize, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and Ambonnay.

Anselme's journey in winemaking began in 1964 when his parents conducted their first vinification. Ten years later, Anselme was entrusted with the keys to the domain, marking the start of his professional career. What followed was a lifelong dedication to refining his viticultural methods through keen observation, continuous experimentation, and thoughtful contemplation.

From 1990 to 1996, Anselme embraced the principles of agrobiology in his vineyards. However, in 1996, his focus shifted towards biodynamics. In a bold move in 2002, Anselme decided to break away from traditional biodynamic practices, choosing instead to distance himself from any attempts to manipulate nature. Inspired by the philosophies of Masanobu Fukuoa and permaculture, Anselme redirected his attention towards the vines and the wine they produce, paving the way for a unique and innovative approach to winemaking.

For the past two decades, the Selosse family has meticulously crafted their own distinctive approach to viticulture. Rigid rules do not bind this method, but rather adapts continuously to the unique challenges faced in each vineyard plot throughout the growing season.

As the time approaches to pass the torch to the next generation at Domaine Jacques Selosse, Guillaume, the son of Anselme and Corinne, has been diligently preparing to carry on his father's legacy since 2012. Through years of working alongside his father, Guillaume has honed his viticultural skills and developed his own unique style, promising to imbue the wines with a fresh identity in the years to come.
