How it tastes
In the glass
A layered and finely structured Roussanne defined by clarity and mountain freshness.
Profile
Nose
Ripe pear, white peach, and acacia blossom, layered with chamomile, almond skin, and crushed stone.
Palate
Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity supporting ripe orchard fruit. Texture builds gradually, revealing subtle citrus oil, light spice, and a saline mineral core that keeps the wine focused rather than opulent.
Finish
Long and steady, with fine phenolic grip and lingering floral and stony notes.
“An alpine interpretation of Roussanne that balances generosity with restraint.”
How to serve
Getting the best out of it
How to pair it
This is a textured white
Richer whites can take richer food: butter, cream and roast chicken are fair game. Keep the acidity in mind and don’t drown it in sauce.
Match
Flavours that echo the wine.
- White meat (roast chicken, rabbit)
- Mushrooms
- Creamy rice and pasta (risotto)
- Hard cheeses
Contrast
Opposites that make each other better.
- Smoked fish (trout, mackerel)
- Fatty pork (pork belly)
- Salty aged cheese (pecorino)
Careful with
Combinations that flatten the wine.
- Very spicy dishes
- Red meat in red sauce
- Sweet desserts
Terroir & winemaking
From the vineyard to the bottle
Roussanne cultivated on limestone-rich slopes, where altitude moderates ripeness and enhances structural definition.
- Vines
- 100% Roussanne from hillside parcels.
- Soils
- Silt and clay over limestone, contributing tension and mineral length.
- Farming
- Organic, low-intervention viticulture with manual harvest.
- Cellar
- Whole-cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, ageing to preserve purity and texture.
- Additions
- Minimal sulphur, no fining or filtration.
Where it's from · Savoy, France
CHIGNIN
Chignin sits on the alpine foothills with steep slopes and a cool mountain rhythm — warm days, cold nights, and constant airflow. That climate is the secret weapon: it lets grapes ripen while keeping the wines bright and elastic.
More from Savoy: a few picks
The winemaker · Chignin, Savoie — south-facing slopes under the Massif des Bauges, a stone’s throw from Chambéry
Domaine Partagé
Savoie grown like a garden — single-parcel cuvées, mountain freshness, and reds with spice and nerve.
Gilles Berlioz started small in 1990, inheriting a tiny family plot in Chignin. It wasn’t enough to live on, so he worked as a landscaper while slowly building the domaine, learning by doing and sharpening his instincts in the vines.
“Le vin est fait avant tout pour être bu.”
- Style
- High-definition alpine wines: textured, mineral whites and bright, spicy reds — clean, pure, built to age without heaviness
- Grapes
- Roussanne (Chignin-Bergeron), Jacquère, Altesse (Roussette), plus Mondeuse, Persan (and small lots depending on the year)
- Farming
- Certified organic, worked like a “vineyard garden” — horse ploughing, careful handwork, low yields, and a deep focus on living soils
- Winemaking
- One parcel = one cuvée; spontaneous fermentations, gentle handling, and élevage designed for clarity (often in egg-shaped vats) rather than oak flavour
- Signature
- Mountain tension with real mid-palate: salt, herbs, stone fruit, and that cool, mouthwatering snap — whites and reds both feel precise and alive

Good to know
Questions we get a lot
Is this a natural wine?
All our wines come from small growers who farm organically or biodynamically and keep intervention in the cellar to a minimum: native yeasts, little or no added sulphites. Every producer has their own approach; the details are in “From the vineyard to the bottle” above.
Why is it a bit cloudy, or is there sediment?
Many of our wines are bottled unfiltered. A light haze or some sediment is natural and harmless: stand the bottle upright for a few hours and pour gently.
How long does it keep once open?
It depends on the wine (see “Once open” above). As a rule: cork back in and keep it in the fridge, reds included.
When will my order arrive?
We ship Tuesday to Saturday, usually right away. In Germany delivery takes 2–3 working days; rates for every country are on our shipping page.
Can I pick up in Berlin?
Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and collect your order at our shop in Berlin.
